Tiny houses have been a hit since they exploded on the housing scene—even with people who have no intention of living in one. A big part of what makes tiny houses so fascinating is the boundless creativity you can bring to the way they’re laid out, decorated, and furnished. The possibilities are ENDLESS!

Bryce Langston of Living Big In a Tiny House on YouTube has a keen sense for finding the best of these homes, from surprisingly functional dwellings for a family with kids to spacious abodes for tall people to even a house shaped like a shoe! (You don’t have to be an old lady to stay in it, though.) There are dozens of tiny house shows, but here’s why you should check out this one.

What Is Living Big In A Tiny House About?

The show’s host and producer, Bryce Langston, is dedicated to exploring small spaces and a downsized, eco-friendly lifestyle. Surprisingly, he’s quite tall—about 6'4"—but he does reside in a tiny house, and is totally passionate about traveling the world to find all the alternative ways you can live in a smaller footprint.

If you’ve watched as many tiny house shows as I have, you know they begin to blur together after a while, because they’re all focused on the same type of structure, over and over. But Langston jumps outside of the box and really expands the way people think of tiny living: A tiny home doesn’t have to be a wooden RV on wheels; instead, it can encompass everything from a traditional house built on a foundation to a whimsical folly for travelers. And he has a knack for finding those that are especially stylish and unique, which is why his show stays fresh and interesting. Best of all, Langston has a great way of pointing out the particular features that are most special or cool about each home. It’s truly wonderful to see the potential through his eyes.

What Are Some of the Best Episodes?

Here are three worth watching, which—warning!—will probably get you hooked on the entire series.

First up, this young couple built a super-stylish tiny house with not only a second story you can walk through while standing up—even for Langston—but the most epic catio (that's a patio for cats, BTW) you have to see!

Second is a great example of how you don’t need to think only in terms of a house on wheels. This couple decided to build a tiny home on their plot of land, so they don’t have to be tied to the high maintenance of a traditional house and can go away and travel whenever they please.

Third, the old lady who lives in a shoe! But really, it is a fun B&B you can stay in, a part of the Jester House Café in New Zealand.
