Every HGTV show serves it purpose, so it only makes sense that there isn't one show that overwhelmingly dominates all of the others. A recent study by the plant retailer Michigan Bulb Company took a look at which HGTV shows are the most popular in every state, and it turns out the favorites vary across the country.

The company surveyed its customers and looked at Google Trends search results for 50 different HGTV shows to determine which show is the most popular in each state. Unsurprisingly, Fixer Upper leads the way as the top-searched show in eight states–Arkansas, Delaware, Illinois, Montana, Alabama, Kentucky, Arizona, and obviously Texas, where the show is based.

As far as unexpected favorites go, Christina On the Coast is the most popular in two landlocked states–Iowa and West Virginia. Another result that may suggest a longing for a different way of life is Beachfront Bargain Hunt ranking as the most popular HGTV show in New Hampshire, a region filled with ski lodges and large expanses of wilderness.

On the not-so-surprising side, Michigan Bulb Company found that Hawaiian Life is the most popular HGTV show in Hawaii, and Flip or Flop Nashville is the most-searched HGTV show in Tennessee. I mean, if an HGTV show is being filmed in your state, how can you resist finding out everything there is to know about it?

No show has a shockingly high popularity, which goes to show how people’s styles and home-based interests vary all over. It’s a good thing HGTV has enough shows to cover an array of curiosities!
