The whole family can enjoy this classic game, which dates back centuries (literally—a version of it was played in the Roman Empire). After the teams choose their bocce ball color, the first player throws the pallino (the small ball) and tosses a bocce ball as close to the pallino as possible. Then, a player from the opposing team tries to throw a bocce ball closer to the pallino. If successful, the ball will be considered "inside," and the other team has to throw their balls until one is inside. Once all the balls are thrown, the frame is over. Whichever team has the closest ball will be rewarded a point for each ball that's inside.
This tabletop baseball game is perfect to play with your friends and family on your outdoor patio. Two teams of up to four players each play ball by rolling the dice and moving the batter game pieces accordingly. Keep score on the dry erase board that looks like a baseball stadium scoreboard.
Set up these bowling pins on your lawn, and your kids and teens can take turns trying to knock down the pins. You can also DIY a lawn bowling game by filling soda bottles with sand, and, depending how heavy you make the bottles, using a beach ball or tennis ball.
