For an autumn supper at her Connecticut home, Jung Lee, a top-notch event producer with a Manhattan shop, finds the sublime where edginess and elegance collide.
"There's a yin and yang to mixing. It shouldn't be all one finish or color or style," she says. "Neutral basics balance out the seasonal oxbloods and aubergines."
Lee hand-painted the tablecloth herself. "The imperfections of the brushstrokes are an organic base for traditional place settings," she explains. "Use only a few unusual pieces, otherwise your eye will go everywhere."
