I place a lot of funny little things on the tabletop, because I find that you eat as much with your eyes as you do with your mouth. The prettier your table looks and feels, the more your guests will enjoy their experience and remember the food. I combine glassware I inherited from my mother with pieces I buy at auctions. Mixing them makes the table eclectic and entertaining. A low vase allows for free-flowing conversations across the table.
Chargers keep your table dressed and beautiful at all times, so it's never naked between courses. These napkin rings are my favorites! They pick up the gold rims on the plates and glasses and make mismatched linens look wonderful together.
