Years ago when I moved into my one-bedroom apartment on the fourth floor of a walk-up in Queens, New York, I knew I couldn't get just any sofa. (My life wasn't about to become that episode of Friends!) I wanted modular seating that would arrive in several boxes, which makes it much easier for my partner, the UPS delivery person, and me to transport the piece of furniture up all those flights of stairs. That's how I landed on a three-seat Lovesac Sactional. Now, in honor of the brand's 25th anniversary, I'm breaking down my personal experience with it so far.
The Possibilities Are Endless.
Though I don't rearrange my living room often, it's great that each part of the Sactional can stand on its own. Not only does that make transporting it less complicated, it allows anyone the option to reconfigure the setup at any time. Even Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker—who's had his Sactional since 2013—experimented by using a chainsaw to cut one of the styles in half. A replacement piece made the sofa like new.
Personally, I was drawn in by the option to choose from more than 200 premium colors and fabrics. Additionally, customers can decide on the support level of the fill: Standard Foam, cushy Down Blend, or luxurious Lovesoft cushions. There are even more customization options, including the arm style and size, ranging from three seats and four sides all the way up to 10 seats and 12 sides.
It's Washable.
In the end, I got the smallest Sactional to avoid overwhelming my New York City–size living area in a lovely White Brushed Weave fabric. As someone who has a bad habit of eating all of her meals in front of the television, being able to remove the covers and pop them in the washing machine gave me the ultimate peace of mind.
White Lotus star Haley Lu Richardson—who also starred in Lovesac's anniversary campaign—agrees. She's comfortable painting on her Sactional, after all. "Well, I knew of Lovesac because I grew up with this Lovesac couch that my parents have always been obsessed with," she told Cosmopolitan. "Literally, it's been years and years, and they will not shut up about it. Whenever a guest comes over they have to rearrange their couch in front of their guests to show them how much they love this gosh darn couch…but then I saw that mixture of other people included in this campaign, which was like Travis Barker and Brandy, and it was such an eclectic, fun mix."
