A onetime Pennsylvania elementary school is going viral on TikTok—and for good reason. The school has since been renovated into a multimillion dollar home. Rick and Crystal Smith purchased the house back in 2015 for less than 350,000, according to Relator.com. Since then, they made extensive renovations to the property—and are not selling it for $2.37 million.

The couple's unconventional renovation journey started with a little bit of luck: “I walked outside and there was a rainbow over the top of the school, and he looked at me and said, ‘I’m going to buy that school.’ I looked up and said, ‘I can’t argue with that rainbow,’” Crystal Smith told Realtor.com.

Although the Smiths did a lot of construction to turn the school into a house, they've kept some features of the original structure, leaving behind a boys and girls room with stalls, one classroom, and nurse’s office. Childhood memories, anyone?

The video of the home so far has amassed 400,000 views with many users loving the home's nostalgia: “I always wanted my school to be my house this literally my dream," wrote one commenter.

Others thought it might be a useful as a halfway house or shelter for those experiencing homelessness. “This wasn't a bad idea. Former schools just end [up] abandoned. I imagine it for foster care, the homeless, possibly for college students or [subsidized] housing,” another user said.

Before putting the house on the market, the couple used to offer tours of the home to former students of the elementary school. Now, as they prepare for retirement, they're ready to move on—and hope to trade in the "schoolhouse" for a lake home.

Now who's feeling nostalgic for school days and looking for a truly one-of-a-kind home? The Smiths are waiting to hear from you!
