Looking to give your space more of an industrial appearance? One TikToker did just that by adding black electrical tape to her large windows, and the super easy hack only cost about $5.
TikToker @lizlovery shared the hack that’s perfect for renters or anyone who's looking for a cheap yet chic DIY. All you need to accomplish the look is black electrical tape, a measuring tape, and scissors. Before you get started, throughly clean your windows. Measure out where you want to place the tape, and then get to sticking it!
“The adhesive on the electrical tape is not as strong as the adhesive on traditional tape, so this is perfect for adding to your windows–especially if you're a renter, because you can remove them super easily,” the TikToker said in the video.
Some people are quite impressed with the hack in the comments. Others had some concerns about if the tape will come off while cleaning the windows in the future and if the heat from the sun will cause the tape to peel or melt. Either way, the inexpensive hack is worth a shot if you want that industrial look and don't have real iron window frames or the ability to paint them.
