Designer Charles O. Schwarz III reconfigured the family room in an upstate New York house, to create space for the new "boot room." So that the knots of the pine paneling would show through — "for character" — he painted the wood without primer. The paler shade is Light Blue, the darker is Pigeon, both by Farrow& Ball.
